BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has deployed more policemen at Purok Sibucao, Barangay Banago here to curb the drug problem and prevent any criminalities in the said area.

Police Lieutenant Rondyl Tapang, head of City Mobile Group, said the patrol base is a pilot project of Police Colonel Henry Biñas, BCPO director through the cooperation of the village officials.

“This is aimed at bringing the police closer to the doorsteps of the residents, to make them feel safe with our presence 24/7,” Tapang said.

Tapang said they will also implement traffic laws and city ordinances.

He assured them that their presence and their operations will follow the protocol to serve the people better.

He said it is also a way for them to check the people who come in and out of the area.

He, however, refused to divulge specific number of assigned policemen from the CMG and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company in the area for security reasons but it involves augmentation from Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 in Iloilo City as part of the city’s beat patrollers.

He said the BCPO has many drug surrenderers in the area that’s why they wanted to also visit their houses for continuous monitoring.
