BACOLOD City – Authorities retrieved on Friday the body of a fisherman who was reported missing for three days at Barangay 1, Ilog, Negros Occidental.

Commander Jansen Benjamin, head of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Negros Occidental, said another fisherman saw a body of an unidentified man floating in the sea around 6 a.m. yesterday.

Authorities later identified the body as that of Isagani Avansenia, 32, of Barangay Bocana. His relatives confirmed his identity.

Benjamin said that the victim was already bloated, but they did not notice any visible injuries on the body.

Avansenia went missing after his motorized boat capsized late Tuesday night when he went fishing with his elder brother.

Their boat got tangled in a fishing net, but his elder brother survived and was rescued by another fishing boat.
