Bomb threat hits SSS-Bacolod

THE Social Security System (SSS) Bacolod Branch on Wednesday assured the safety of its members and employees after receiving a bomb threat last April 2.

At around 6:17 a.m., one of the SSS employees received a bomb threat through a text message from an anonymous person.

The employee immediately relayed the information to the branch officials for coordination with different security units.

All SSS members and employees were required to evacuate the building.

Police Station 2 led by Police Captain Leo G. Estopa together with the SWAT team from Bacolod City Police Office led by PCMSGT Erwin Villanueva immediately searched the building. A Canine Team led by PO3 Rommel Alog together with ASN John Paul Zerrudo also arrived to secure the vicinity.

At 10:20 am, the building was officially cleared from any explosive materials.

Members and employees were allowed to enter the building and the branch immediately resumed its normal operation.
