The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) conducted its 6th Procurement Opportunities Fair to encourage and capacitate more bidders to participate in competitive and transparent procurement of various goods and services needed by the bank.
Held at the BSP Head Office in Manila from 23 to 25 April 2024, the event drew the participation of suppliers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, and distributors from various industries.
The BSP’s procurement officers discussed Republic Act No. 9184 (The Government Procurement Reform Act) and provided a hands-on guide on how to comply with BSP bidding documents. The event also simulated the BSP bidding processes to ensure that compliant bids are submitted.
BSP Deputy Governor Eduardo G. Bobier, in a recorded message, said the BSP prides itself in having a clean, transparent, efficient, and competitive bidding process. “We aim to award contracts that are most advantageous to the government, while remaining fair to suppliers.”
The fair featured an exhibit, which allowed participating suppliers to showcase their products and services.
The fair is part of the two-year capacity-building roadmap of the BSP to promote the participation of more bidders and to reduce bidding failures. Similar events are scheduled to be held at the BSP Security Plant Complex and at select BSP Regional Offices and Branches.
