Businesswoman nabbed in Roxas City drug sting

ROXAS CITY,  Capiz – A 41-year-old businesswoman was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation at Brgy. Punta Tabuc, Roxas City around 5:36 pm on February 11, 2024.

The police identified the suspect as Maricel Bergantinos of Punta Tabuc.

Recovered from Bergantinos were 6 sachets of suspected illegal drugs, the P1,000 marked money, and a coin purse.

The operation was jointly conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Roxas City PNP in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 6).

Bergantinos is presently in the custody of Roxas City Police Station and was charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

In Panay, Capiz, two “High Value Individuals” (HVI) were arrested in another operation on Sunday morning at Sitio Sablayan, Brgy. Lomboy, Panay, Capiz.

The operation was conducted by Panay PNP around 2:04 am which resulted in the arrest of alias “Toto” and alias “Munding,” both residents of Brgy. Tanza town.

Recovered from them were 12 sachets of suspected shabu including the item bought by a police poseur buyer, P6,600 marked money, a black pouch, a cellphone and a motorcycle.

Police estimated the confiscated illegal drugs at 80 grams and valued at P544,000.

Meanwhile,  a 37-year-old person was arrested Saturday afternoon, February 10, in another drug bust at Vizcaya Ville, Brgy. Vizcaya President Roxas town.

Information from the President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that the suspect was identified as Gerald Daliva of Sitio Lagubang, Brgy. Poblacion.

Recovered from Daliva were four sachets of suspected shabu worth P65,000 and a sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P600, and the marked money.
