As Calvin Abueva nears his return, the controversial player says he will be channeling a different “Beast” once he steps on the PBA hardwood.

Inactive for almost a year due to his suspension by the PBA board, Abueva is in the final phase of completing his requirements in order to return to the sport and he is nothing but excited and enthusiastic.

The Phoenix Fuel Masters’ star forward needs only to finish the remaining sessions of his psychological test and once completed, will be given the go signal to return to the league.

During the 2OT podcast, Abueva said that the PBA and the fans will expect a different Calvin and promised that he will be a better person on the court than he was before.

To recall, the PBA suspended Abueva after clotheslining TNT ex-import Terrence Jones and verbally assaulting TNT’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s girlfriend during a game.

To make matters worse, Abueva also appeared in different “ligang labas” games triggering the PBA office to extend his suspension.

Putting the past firmly behind him, Abueva vows to put himself in a better position to not only protect his team and the league but to also help improve himself as a player.

“My expectation is that I can come back and I can prove myself that I’m not like who I was before but better. I need to think twice first before I do anything,” Abueva said.
