ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The provincial government of Capiz has shelled out P30,106,425 in medical and other forms of assistance from January to June this year.
This was confirmed by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Chief Nieva Camposano.
Camposano said P9.881 million was given for hospital expenses while P8.142 million was for financial assistance to 7,009 clients from different municipalities.
Camposano said P62,175,260 was set aside for the assistance, with the remaining P19 million to be given out until December 2023.
Because of this, the provincial government will prioritize clients seeking burial assistance, dialysis, chemotherapy and laboratory services who are not admitted to the government hospital.
At present, the provincial government will not cater to patients admitted to private hospitals. Instead, they will be encouraged to go to government hospitals like the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital if they want to avail of the assistance.
The capitol assured that the hospital has sufficient medical facilities and doctors.
Meanwhile, the financial assistance intended for maintenance of high blood, diabetes, among others, will be referred to the pharmacy of public hospitals.
