ROXAS CITY, Capiz– “Rid the province of Capiz of illegal activities such as gambling and drugs”.

This was the marching order of Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director, to Police Colonel Laudemer Lllaneta, the new director of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

Llaneta replaced Colonel Julio Gustilo Jr. who will retire on July 27.

The turnover of command was held Friday afternoon at Camp Teodorico Apil in Brgy. Lanot here.

Miranda praised Gustilo for his laudable accomplishments during his stint in as provincial police director.

“He’s one of the best provincial directors,” Miranda stressed.

One of Gustilo’s accomplishments was the “Bahaynihan” or “Bahay at Kabuhayan Nila Handog Namin” which was inspired by the Philippine National Police (PNP) project Adopt-a-Family.

In the “Bahaynihan” program, the CPPO does not just give out food packs to the poorest of the poor.  The goal is broad: provide shelter and livelihood to the homeless and poorest in areas much affected by the coronavirus pandemic and high crime incidence.

To date, 63 families across Capiz have benefitted from “Bahaynihan”.

With its positive impact on the lives of beneficiaries, “Bahaynihan” was dubbed a “best practice” program of the CPPO recognized by the PNP national headquarters and the Police Regional Office 6.

Meanwhile, Llaneta is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class 1998 and a native of Tayabas, Quezon.

Before he became the provincial director of Capiz PPO, he was assigned to the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations –Southern Luzon from September 1, 2019.

He held different positions at the Police Regional Office 4A (CALABARZON) from September 2005 to May 2016.

He also served at PRO-12 and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Region 12.
