Capizeño nabbed for selling shabu in Iloilo

A native of Roxas City, Capiz was arrested in a police anti-illegal drugs operation in Estancia, Iloilo afternoon of February 23, 2021.

Danden Marfil, 28, a resident of Phil. Railway Street, Roxas City, was arrested after allegedly selling two sachets of suspected shabu to a police undercover agent.

The trade happened 2PM of Tuesday at Barangay Poblacion Zone 1, Estancia.

Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) and Estancia Police Station immediately captured Marfil after he accepted the money from the poseur buyer.

Recovered from his possession were 27 sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP60,000; PHP4,000 cash, including the PHP200 marked money.

Captain Francis Albert Fortunado of the IPPO-PDEU said that Marfil is not new to the illegal drug trade as he has been arrested and jailed for drug-related offenses.

He was released following a plea-bargaining agreement.

Police later learned that Marfil was allegedly dealing drugs in Estancia town, which is just around an hour away from Roxas City. He reportedly got his supply from Capiz province.

Marfil is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
