The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has partnered with GCash, a leading mobile wallet in the Philippines, to introduce a more efficient and convenient payment system for its events and productions.

The collaboration leverages GCash’s extensive reach and digital platform to make CCP’s offerings more accessible to a wider audience.

GCash, a mobile payments service owned by Globe Fintech Innovations Inc. and operated by GXI, has transformed the financial landscape in the Philippines. Launched in 2004 as an SMS-based money transfer service and later transitioning to a mobile app in 2012, it has become a widely used payment method for retail and event services nationwide.

“We are thrilled to partner with GCash. This collaboration will help streamline CCP’s operations and provide valuable data to optimize our offerings,” CCP President Kaye C. Tinga said. “At CCP, we are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our patrons, subscribers, and audiences by providing them with a secure, seamless, and faster way to access our events. This is an exciting step as we continue to innovate and connect with audiences in the digital age.”

The partnership introduces a cashless, hassle-free payment solution for CCP’s patrons, eliminating the need for physical cash and long queues. Attendees can easily make payments using their smartphones, enhancing convenience for both local and international audiences.

Through GCash’s Scan to Pay service, which will be available at various CCP venues and partner locations, ticket purchases, merchandise transactions, and other services will be streamlined. Customers can complete payments by simply scanning a QR code at designated sites.

The system also accommodates non-GCash users, allowing payments from other mobile apps or QR payment tools provided by different issuers. This ensures seamless transactions for all attendees.

With over 40 million GCash users nationwide, the partnership expands CCP’s reach to a broader, more diverse audience, particularly younger, tech-savvy individuals who may be new to the world of arts and culture.

This initiative reflects CCP’s commitment to digital transformation in the performing arts sector while making cultural performances more accessible to people from all walks of life.
