Cebu town’s most wanted person captured

BACOLOD City – The most wanted person (MWP) of Medellin town and the ninth MWP in Cebu province was arrested at Hacienda Pula, Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as Arnold Aballe, 33, of Mahawak, Medellin, Cebu.

The suspect has an arrest warrant with no bail recommended for murder charges issued by Judge Antonio D. Maregomen of Regional Trial Court Branch 61 in Bogo City, Cebu on December 14, 2015.

Operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG)-6 led by Police Major Antonio Benitez Jr., and Silay City Police Station, along with the 1st company of Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Intelligence Unit, 605th Mobile Force, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and Medellin Police Station launched the operation after confirming the suspect’s presence in the area.

Benitez said they placed Aballe under monitoring for two months.

Benitez said they received information that Aballe was hiding in Negros Occidental after fleeing from Cebu province in 2014.

“Saylo-saylo siya abi panago after the incident,” he added.

Benitez said Aballe has stayed in Silay City at his live-in partner’s house for eight months now.

“Nakibot siya sang gin sulod namon,” he added.

Authorities recovered from Aballe an MK4 .45-caliber pistol with a magazine, seven live ammunition, and a fragmentation grenade.

The suspect is now detained at Silay City Police Station and will be transported to Cebu province after the filing of charges for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and illegal possession of explosives.

Benitez said Aballe alleged that the weapons recovered from him served as his protection.
