Celebrate Global Generosity Day with #GivingTuesdayPH

Small acts can make a huge impact. Celebrate the International Day for Kindness and Generosity by participating in various activities in GivingTuesday Philippines on December 1, 2020.

GivingTuesday aims to organize communities and bring people together to give back in all forms and acts of kindness, gifts of voice, time, talent or treasure, not just on December 1, but every day.

This year, non-profit organizations, private companies, and individuals in the Philippines are joining the global movement to give back, spread kindness, and celebrate the spirit of giving with GivingTuesday Philippines.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Some of the local partners joining GivingTuesday on December 1 include the Philippine Red Cross, Worldwide Fund for Nature, Zalora Philippines, Asia Society, Ayala Foundation, Zonta Makati & Environs, ChildHope Philippines, HelpingHandHealingHearts Ministries; schools such as Brent International School and Everest Academy; restaurants Shilin, Wildflour, Brick & Mortar. Participating organizations will embark on activities that express their way of giving back and commitment to generosity.

Aside from the pandemic, the Philippines was recently been hit by two strong typhoons, #RollyPH and #UlyssesPH, leaving many families homeless. GivingTuesday Philippines urges Filipinos to extend generosity and kindness to fellow Filipinos who were gravely affected and in need during this difficult time.

GivingTuesday Philippines hopes to encourage more people to share their expressions of generosity and kindness, and join this movement online by using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayPH starting December 1, 2020. The public is encouraged to share any way they express their generosity and kindness. It does not have to be limited to giving monetary or in-kind assistance. One can share stories online to inspire others, share calls for donations online, advocate for a cause, collaborate with various organizations, among others.

Organizations and businesses are also welcome to become partners for the event through fundraising activities and organizing donations to groups and/or communities.

Those who are interested in joining the GivingTuesday initiative can visit the GivingTuesday website (http://givingtuesday.ph/), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GivingTuesday), Instagram Page (@givingtuesdayphils) or follow @GivingTuesday and use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and #GivingTuesdayPH on Twitter.
