BACOLOD City – Officials here appealed to the public to responsibly dispose their waste amid the ongoing MassKara Festival celebration.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that based on his observation, the volume of garbage increases during the festival period.
But he pointed out the kiosk owners to immediately clean up their waste once the festival period is over.
Leonardia ordered concerned government offices to double their cleaning efforts once the MassKara ends.
Councilor Cindy Rojas said the policy of ‘Clean as You Go’ or CLAYGO should be followed.
Rojas pointed out the problem of garbage disposal is not only the responsibility of the government but of everyone.
The MassKara Festival started Oct 7, 2019 and will run until Oct 27 at three festival sites – the Bacolod Government Center, public plaza, and the Tourism Strip along Lacson Street.
