BACOLOD City – The Ilog Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental is looking for two persons of interest behind the killing of an eight-year-old girl in the town.
Police Major John Ganzon, town police chief, said that one of the two persons of interest is a 17-year old girl who was reported to be the last person seen with the victim at the market in Kabankalan City on March 6, 2020.
Ganzon said that they are still investigating the alleged participation of the female teenager behind the death of the child who was found dead in a sugarcane plantation in the town Wednesday, barely three weeks since she was reported missing by her parents.
He said it’s possible that the teenager brought the child to the town and met with a group or somebody, who probably committed the crime.
“We need to backtrack everything to connect every single detail about the incident to give justice to the victim,” he added.
He said that the teenager would usually loiter in the market, but they are not sure if the victim’s parents knew her.
He said that they have yet to determine the whereabouts of the two persons of interest, but they are hoping to solve the case very soon as they already have a lead on the case.
He also said that they are still waiting for the victim’s autopsy results to determine if there was sexual molestation that happened.
The victim, who was in its advance state of decomposition, was half-naked when found. “We are still trying to establish if the crime was committed in the town or somewhere else,” he said.
