A couple working for an electric cooperative was found dead morning of April 27, 2021 in Pototan, Iloilo.

Initial police investigation did not find any signs of foul play in the deaths of Sherwin Ticzon, 43, and his wife, Christy Ticzon, 39, of Barangay Batuan, Pototan.

Sherwin’s younger brother, Aljohn, discovered the bodies around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The couple got tangled in a cyclone wire which served as their fence.

It was surmised that the husband may have held on to the wire while his wife came in to help him.

Major Ciriaco Esquilarga, Pototan police chief, said they are not discounting that the couple died from electrocution.

Investigators found a wire, which connects from the main line going to the couple’s home that brushed on the cyclone wire.

It was gathered that the couple worked for Iloilo Electric Cooperative 2 (ILECO 2). Christy was employed as a cashier based in Passi City while her husband is a driver assigned to the Pototan sub-station.

Esquilarga said there were no superficial injuries found on the couple’s body except for blood coming out from their ears and nosed

Barangay Captain Dennis Ticzon, Sherwin’s father, said the couple’s neighbors did not hear any strange noise or sensed anything unusual from the couple’s house.

The couple had no child.

Esquilarga said an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain how the couple died.
