Iloilo City saw a decrease in COVID-19 cases from Sept 19 to 25, 2021, based on data from the City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CESU).
Majority of the barangays in the city also noted decreasing number of cases in the past week.
According to the CESU data, only 26 of the 180 barangays reported spikes in cases from Sept. 19 to Sept. 25. All other barangays saw a drop of Covid-19 cases.
The 26 barangays with increasing cases include San Jose in Arevalo; Maria Clara, Villa Anita, Zamora Melliza in City Proper; Balantang, Democracia, Dungon B, Fajardo, Montinola, Sambag, San Jose, Tagbak, Ungka, in Jaro; Burgos-Mabini, Jereos, Railway, and Tabuc Suba in La Paz; Bakhaw, Dungon, Hibao-an Sur, Oñate De Leon, PHHC Block 17, and Sta. Rosa in Mandurriao; Katilingban and South Baluarte in Molo district.
Based on the overall number of cases per day, the city logged 803 infections from Sept. 19 to 25, which is lower than the 1,087 cases recorded on Sept. 12 to 18.
The downtrend continued on Sept. 24 to 27 with less than 100 cases recorded daily, according to CESU.
As of Sept. 28, the city has 1,998 active cases and 509 deaths. (ERS)
