It was two years ago when one of the most dominant football clubs was racking win after win in the Philippines Football League (PFL).

However, after almost three years of dominance in the PFL, Davao Aguilas FC had to withdraw, shocking most in the PH football scene.

Aguilas FC was spearheaded by Azkals legends Phil Younghusband, James Younghusband, and Jason de Jong before pulling out and was considered as the frontrunner in every PFL season they joined.

After being silent and inactive for the past months, the prestigious football organization announced through their social media account that they will be making their comeback in PH football, but not as participants in the big boys’ league.

This time, the Davao-based football club will be active in their youth teams and will hone and train the future of PH football.

“As we enter a new era in the history of our club, we are confident that this partnership will be a huge boost to Philippine football and its supporters around the world,” their Facebook post read.

The Jefferson Cheng owned Football club will be looking into new options amid the COVID-19 pandemic, choosing to focus on the youth squads they’ve organized.

However, they have kept while mum on whether they plan to return to the PFL.

“To our supporters, we are excited about the future of the club and we hope that you will continue to join us in our new journey as we aim to build a better foundation for youth football development and to contribute to producing top talents for greater youth and professional player pool in the Philippines,” added the statement.
