BACOLOD City – The filing of business permits and licenses in this city will be extended on Jan 21 to Feb 15, 2023 after the Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the request for extension sought by Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez during the regular session Wednesday.
Permits and Licensing Division head Stella Rose Rayos said payments for business taxes, fees, and charges from Jan 1 to 20 will be subject to a 10 percent discount.
The Business-One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) of Bacolod City for the renewal and application of business permits is ongoing at the fourth floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central from January 2 to 20, she added.
The BOSS is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Rayos said the 10 percent discount in business tax takes effect from Jan 3 to 20 as mandated by City Ordinance No. 565.
Rayos said the total number of business registration as of Dec 29, 2022 was 22,795, which is 2 percent more than the 22,267 the previous year.
This indicates the economy of Bacolod City is slowly recovering, Rayos added.
The number of new applications last year was 3,377 compared to 3,088 in 2021, she said.
The office conducted advanced processing starting last Nov 20 until Dec 29.
Rayos also said taxpayers will have the option to process their application online or manually.
Those who want to process their application online can check the link at the city’s official website at http://www.bacolodcity.gov.ph. Walk-in applicants do not need to get an appointment.
Rayos believes that more taxpayers will be encouraged to get their business permits with the availability of online registration since they are trying their best to make processing easier and faster.
Rayos further said that this will also be the first time that they will be releasing QR-coded business permits to ensure that these will cannot be tampered with, Rayos added.
