Players’ Center Sports Academy delivered another heart-warming and motivational episode.
Thousands of Ilonggos and viewers from all over the Philippines were inspired by Jovelyn “The Bionic Ilongga” Gonzaga as she talked about her struggles and victories as one of the top volleyball players in the country.
Gonzaga shared where she takes motivation every day from a simple girl in Guimaras to a member of the Philippine national volleyball women’s team.
When asked about how she was able to get through all the obstacles in her life, Gonzaga smirked, paused, and proudly said that you should always set an ultimate goal for yourself and don’t settle for less.
“Sa mga aspiring volleyball players sa Guimaras kag mga naga umpisa, good thing nga may talent na kamo sa sport. Tutuki nyo ang sport, mag dedikar kamo sa sport, pagtrabahu-an nyo ang sport kag never gid kamo madulaan pag-asa. Do not settle for less, always set a goal for yourself,” Gonzaga said during her interview.
The superstar spiker added that aspiring players should toughen themselves and reach for their goals no matter what the extent will be.
“Hindi masamang mangarap. If you want to be a varsity for that team, dapat itatak mo na makakalaro ka talaga jan, be positive. Mas manami gid ina nga may gina look forward ka,” Gonzaga added.
Gonzaga also shared that it is very important to follow your coaches and to heed their advice.
“Most of the kids nowadays, mabudlay na tudluan. Bata pa lang may sarili ng paniniwala kag wala na ginapati si coach. Always follow them kay sila na makabulig sa inyo sa ulihi.”
