The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras, through Negosyo Center Sibunag, marked the National Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Week by hosting a Business Continuity Planning workshop at the Sibunag Municipal Hall.
The event, aimed at equipping local businesses with essential skills to navigate potential disruptions, brought together key stakeholders and local government partners.
In her opening remarks, Juvy D. Benliro, Officer-in-Charge of DTI Guimaras, highlighted the workshop’s significance.
“This training will equip our MSMEs with vital tools to withstand natural and man-made calamities, contributing to the sustainability of local enterprises,” she said.
Workshop Highlights
- Business Preparedness: Normel Galvan from DTI Guimaras discussed strategies for business readiness in the face of potential disruptions.
- Fire Safety: SFO1 Jun-Jun G. Bedoña of BFP-Sibunag Station provided insights on basic fire safety and emergency response procedures. FO3 Francis F. Magan demonstrated proper fire extinguisher use.
- First Aid: Mr. Mark D. Delotindo, Acting MDRRM Officer, and Mr. D’Jill M. Gamarcha from MDRRMO Sibunag led an interactive session on BLS-First Aid Bandaging, with participants practicing bandaging techniques.
The workshop saw participation from 20 MSMEs, emphasizing the community’s dedication to preparedness and resilience.
Notable attendees included Alvin G. Galfo representing Municipal Mayor Annabelle V. Samaniego and SFO1 Joemarie G. Delgado, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of BFP Sibunag Station.
Rejoice Orquia of DTI Guimaras concluded the event by expressing gratitude to all partners and participants.
“Together, we are strengthening the foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity in Sibunag,” she stated.
