Dumalag town proper under lockdown

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The town proper of Dumalag town was placed under lockdown or Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) after four new cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Barangay Poblacion.

Mayor Amado Ereberto Castro said the lockdown took effect September 17 to 30, 2020.

Castro issued an executive order setting the following rules:

  1. Only authorized persons outside residence (APOR) and persons in emergency purposes can pass through checkpoints.
  2. All residents of Poblacion cannot go out from the village.
  3. Poblacion residents who were outside the village before the lockdown are not allowed entry unless delivering essential goods.
  4. Delivery of essential goods are exempted.
  5. Also exempted are those working in the government, banks, pawnshops and selling essential goods.
  6. If you are not from Poblacion, you can pass through, but you must proceed to your destination.
  7. Persons 21 years old and below, and 60 years old and above are not allowed to go out.
  8. Wearing of face mask and face shield and social distancing must be observed.

The new cases in the town are:

CASE No. 07: a 93-year-old male who is presently confined in a hospital in Roxas City;

CASE No. 08: a 21-year-old female and relative of another patient;

CASE # 09: a 45-year-old female and relative of another patient;

CASE No. 10: a 77-year-old male presently admitted to a hospital in Iloilo City.

According to Poblacion Punong Barangay Basti Salazar, the residents should not be worried because the place has already been secured.

He said the municipal government of Dumalag has assured support for residents affected by the lockdown.
