ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A former inmate of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and National Bilibid Prisons (NBP) in Muntinlupa City was seriously wounded after he was pistol-whipped and shot in the leg by unidentified suspects Saturday evening at Marian Park Subdivision in Arnaldo Blvd. here.

Police identified the victim as Reymar Ledesma, 29, of Brgy. Culasi here.

Investigation by the Roxas City police indicated that Ledesma was in his house when he received a text message from a certain Joren Permo, his former fellow inmate at the BJMP in Brgy. San Jose here, inviting him for a drink.

Ledesma agreed and was fetched by Permo at Sitio Purok.

But while they were in front of Marian Park, Permo told him to alight as the motorcycle ran out of fuel.

Ledesma told investigators that three unidentified persons on three motorcycles were already in the area.

He was surprised when the three persons approached and restrained his hand and neck while another pistol-whipped his head.

He managed to run away, but the suspects chased and shot his leg. Fortunately, he managed to run and hide in the kitchen of a nearby house.

According to the house owner, he heard two gunfire volleys and saw three persons on three motorcycles running after the victim.

Ledesma was jailed for illegal possession of firearm and was released from the NBP on Dec 17, 2021.
