BACOLOD City – Police are investigating if there’s foul play behind the death of a farmer who was found with injuries at home in Barangay Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental last Thursday.

The victim was identified as Eliseo Amparado, 58, of the said village.

Police Major Joevito Bose, Moises Padilla town police chief, said the victim was found by his family lying on a bamboo chair with multiple wounds on the different parts of his body.

Police recovered a bolo from the scene.

Prior to that, the victim and his children had a drinking session at home. But he later continued drinking alone when his children went to sleep first.

Bose said they could not establish yet if the bolo had something to do with the incident.

He said they are waiting for the result of the postmortem examination to determine the cause of his death.

Bose said that his wife did not hear any commotion on Wednesday night, adding that her husband had no enemies.

“May mga pilas siya (victim) abi pero indi pa ma establish kung may foul play gid man,” the police chief added.
