Festive Walk Iloilo has partnered with the GiftBox Project to launch a donation drive for the benefit of children in poor communities, which will run until December.
Festive Walk Iloilo will serve as a venue where guests can drop off their in-kind donations such as toys, school supplies, toiletries and other items that can help complete gift boxes for less fortunate kids in Iloilo.
“We are delighted that we can be part of this campaign that will bring joy to hundreds of Filipino children. Through this donation drive, we hope to encourage members of the community to share their love and extend their generosity to children in need,” said Karmela Jesena, General Manager of Festive Walk Iloilo.
The GiftBox Project is a non-government organization that was started ten years ago by a group of college students who held a gift-giving activity for the less fortunate children in Iloilo. They began with 74 gift boxes which they distributed to children in Ticud, La Paz.
They continued the initiative in the succeeding years, and eventually became a yearly Christmas tradition for the group. GiftBox Project also gained lots of support from different sectors that allowed them to push further and make it a quarterly gift-giving event.
Those who are interested in contributing can drop off their donations at the Festive Walk Iloilo Atrium.
