Five persons were caught playing bingo in Cabatuan, Iloilo afternoon of Dec 17, 2020.
The five suspects were identified as Cleofe Camba, 53; Rovie Dela Peña, 23, Elizabeth Ducasi, 49, Emily Yniego, 32; and Elvira Ducasi, 71.
All suspects are residents of Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, where police caught them.
Major Niño Leonard Amar, Cabatuan police chief, said the other players scampered when they barged into their bingo playing area around 4:30 p.m. of Thursday.
“We believed there are around 30 players who were inside an under-construction house when we entered,” he said.
Amar said they received reports that residents have been playing bingo in the area.
They allegedly sought help to determine the time and the exact place where they play.
Recovered from their possessions were bingo playing cards, a plastic container with bingo numbers, and P4,000 cash.
The suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Presidential Decree 1602.
