BACOLOD City – Police arrested a foreigner and his friend for allegedly mauling a woman at Barangay 1, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

Police Major Mark Angelo Junco, city police chief, identified the suspects as 40-year-old Nour Raad Abdul Kadhim, a Danish national; and Leonardo Buscado.

Junco said the two suspects allegedly forcibly dragged the victim named Ma. Daniela Anonas, 49, into Buscado’s house while she was walking.

The victim was held by Buscado while Kadhim allegedly punched her on the face and threatened her at knifepoint if she will report the incident to the police, Junco said.

Junco said the suspects committed the crime after they accused the victim of informing the police about them allegedly engaging in illegal drugs.

But the police chief said the suspects were not part of any drugs list, though they will now subject them for investigation related to the said allegation.

Junco said charges for grave coercion or grave threat will be filed against the suspects, who are now under police custody.

He said they have previously arrested Kadhim for failure to wear a face mask amid the pandemic.

“Parang abusado po kasi siya sa kanilang lugar,” he said, adding that the foreigner even allegedly harassed a police officer before.
