Four municipal police stations were cited for making the most accomplishments in Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO)’s weeklong anti-criminality campaign.

Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said San Enrique, Pavia, Oton, and Miag-ao police stations topped the number of police operations in “Birada Semana” conducted from October 4 to 11.

A program of Police Regional Office (PRO-6), Birada Semana compels all IPPO units to step up their campaign against wanted persons, illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, and illegal fishing.

San Enrique Municipal Police Station arrested the most number of wanted persons with four.

In the conduct of anti-illegal drug operations, Pavia Municipal Police Station registered five operations that resulted in the arrest of eight persons.

Meanwhile, Oton Municipal Police Station arrested the most number of suspects in anti-illegal gambling operations with nine persons.

Following the arrest of a suspected gunsmith, Miga-ao Police Station confiscated the most number of unlicensed firearms with 21.

Province-wide, different police stations arrested 52 wanted persons while 18 were collared in the anti-narcotics operations.

Further, forty-three were arrested for illegal gambling while 107 firearms were seized.

Gorero has lauded the efforts of IPPO personnel who stepped up their efforts in the anti-criminality campaign.

He assured, though, that more arrests would still be made.
