Four persons, including a minor, were arrested in a police anti-drug operation evening of June 15, 2021 in Oton, Iloilo.

Members of Oton Police Station first collared Michael Magapa, 38, an electronic technician from Barangay Galang, Oton.

The other suspects, Quilfred John Villaluna, 25, and his younger brother, 16-year-old Nonoy (not his real name) of Barangay Lambuyao, Oton; and their cousin, Romel Villaluna, 21, of Barangay Sta. Monica, Oton, were arrested in a follow-up operation.

Members of Oton PNP first bought drugs from Magapa.

After the trade was consummated, he led police operatives to Quilfred, his source of the suspected shabu.

There were several attempts in the past to arrest Quilfred, who is a drug surrenderer, but these failed.

Recovered from Quilfred’s possession were 11 sachets of suspected shabu, P3,500 buy bust money, two mobile phones, P653 cash, driver’s license, a Suki card, two sling bags, and a backpack.

Captain Jayson Robert Pancha, Oton police chief, said the seized substance was valued at P51,000.

Magapa and Quilfred will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Romel and Nonoy, on the other hand, will be charged for visiting a drug den.
