Boxing superstar Gervonta Davis was already released from jail after getting arrested for alleged domestic violence in South Florida last December 28, 2022.

The current World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight king was placed under arrest in a Parkland residence after the police received two separate 911 calls.

It was exposed first by TMZ Sports before getting the confirmation from Broward County Sheriff’s Department, revealing that a female dialed the 911 call to report that Davis attacked her.

According to the information acquired by Boxing Scene, a document report was made where Davis intentionally hit a female on the right side of her head in Parkland.

The report further added that Davis handed the female a closed-hand slap which caused a cut in the victim’s right side of the mouth in the lip area.

Davis was detained overnight by Broward County but immediately secured his release when a no-contact order was called by the presiding judge.

The former International Boxing Federation (IBF) super featherweight champion’s official charge was one count of Battery-Causing Bodily Harm and a first-degree misdemeanor handled as a domestic violence case.

However, Davis was quick to defend himself and posted a lengthy revelation on his official social media accounts.

The hard-hitting knockout artist said that he was in an argument with his child’s mother but he never laid his hands on her the whole time.

“I’m not a monster. I been quiet for too long. I don’t have media team, PR, good lawyer, spokesman, none of that. That’s the only reason I’m doing this now! Just to clear my name! I been doing this shi* since on my own since I started this shi*! Posted Davis.

Davis is bound for a professional ring return on January 7, 2023 against Hector Luis Garcia of Dominican Republic but SHOWTIME and the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) are yet to release their respective statements as the main promoters of the fight.

After Hector Luis, Davis will be taking on one of his main rivals in the sport, Ryan Garcia, in the first quarter of 2023.
