Global Business Power Corporation (GBP) subsidiary Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC) recently supported Iloilo Provincial Government’s (IPG) endeavors through the allocation of funds under the Energy Regulations (ER) 1-94.

Last March 6, the IPG turned over the 30KW Solar PV and Efficiency Project for CoViD Ward and Service Ward to Aleosan District Hospital.

A groundbreaking ceremony was also held on the same day for the 30 KW Rooftop Solar PV + Streetlights and Efficiently Project Phase II for the said hospital.

Both projects have been made possible through the utilization of funds provided by PEDC under the ER 1-94 program.

ER 1-94 program stipulates that communities hosting the power generating facilities are entitled to financial benefits from the electricity sales of the Generating Companies (GenCos).

Aiming to help develop the communities as well as promote harmony and cooperation between the GenCos and host communities, ER 1-94 funds can be used for electrification, development and livelihood, reforestation, watershed management, and health and environment enhancement projects of the host communities.

Present at the event were Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., Alimodian Mayor Ian Kenneth Alfeche, Iloilo Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Iloilo Hospital Management Office Head Dr. Paz Calopiz,  Aleosan District Hospital Chief Cherubim Estrallanes, and PEDC Community Relations & External Affairs Head Michael Guanco, among others.
