Megaworld Corporation has inaugurated the Grand Westside Hotel, now the largest hotel in the Philippines, within its 31-hectare Westside City township in Parañaque.
The milestone development, featuring 1,530 rooms, enhances Megaworld’s extensive portfolio and marks a significant boost to Philippine tourism and the local hospitality industry.
Grand Westside Hotel offers a variety of room types, including presidential suites equipped with living, dining, and kitchen spaces.
Other options include Queen Suites, Twin Suites, Executive Suites, and rooms designed specifically for specially-abled guests.
Cleofe Albiso, managing director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the hotel’s appeal to both business and leisure travelers, noting its strategic location along Manila Bay, which provides guests with stunning sunset views.
“Grand Westside Hotel is the latest addition to Megaworld’s Westside City township, which continues to take shape today as the ‘Broadway of Asia.’ The hotel offers guests a wide variety of room selections, each one designed for the varied preferences of guests,” Albiso added.
The hotel features an array of dining options, including Café by Westside, serving Filipino and international cuisines, the Zabana Bar for craft cocktails, and the Plunge Bar on the fifth floor’s open deck. A specialty restaurant, LaMeza, is set to open later this year.
The Grand Westside Hotel’s design is inspired by the waves approaching the shore, evident in the lines enveloping the structure. The facility includes a high-ceiling lobby with contemporary design elements and a two-level retail and commercial space.
Guests can enjoy first-class amenities on the fifth floor, such as an expansive pool area with views of the Manila Bay sunset, a children’s pool, a Zen garden, and outdoor seating areas with vibrant foliage. Additional amenities include function rooms for various events, a fitness gym, and massage rooms.
The hotel will soon be connected to the Westside Resort complex, an entertainment hub featuring four theaters, including the Grand Opera House with a 2,000-seat capacity. This development, launched on Megaworld’s 35th anniversary, is expected to generate hundreds of jobs in the hospitality sector, adding to the approximately 3,000 employees currently working in Megaworld’s hotels across the Philippines.
Kevin L. Tan, Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of Alliance Global Group, Inc., and Megaworld’s Director and COO, emphasized the company’s continued support for Philippine tourism through such developments. The opening of Grand Westside Hotel reflects Megaworld’s investment of around P64 billion in building Westside City over the next decade.
Megaworld Hotels & Resorts has launched 20 hotel properties nationwide, including notable establishments like Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, Savoy Hotel Manila, and Belmont Hotel Boracay. The addition of Grand Westside Hotel further cements Megaworld’s reputation as the largest hotel developer in the Philippines, with over 7,000 rooms in its portfolio.
