GSIS reinforces commitment for improved service at Region 6 Educators’ Meet

“This meeting is key to our mission of serving our members and ensuring that our programs effectively meet their needs.” State pension fund Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President and General Manager Wick Veloso made the statement during the dialogue with school division superintendents from Region 6 held on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

The meeting also aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the issues and challenges that teachers face. By creating an open line of communication, GSIS intends to gather insights that could help improve its service offerings.

“It’s not just about us sharing information. We also want to listen to our teachers’ concerns and work to address them through enhancements in our service delivery. Ultimately, we want to provide the best possible customer experience,” Veloso added.

During the dialogue, Veloso highlighted the new programs of GSIS such as the Pabahay Para sa Bagong Manggagawa ng Pamahalaan, the forthcoming Multipurpose Loan Flex program, and the new features of the GSIS Touch mobile app.

Aside from Veloso, GSIS Chairman Rodolfo Del Rosario Jr., Trustee Evelina Escudero, and Trustee Rita Riddle who currently serves as the National President of the Philippine Association of School Superintendents, also attended the meeting.

Earlier, the GSIS officials inaugurated the renovated branch office, which will enhance the comfort and convenience of over 72,000 active members and pensioners.

The renovations included lowering the service counters to ensure easy access for people with disabilities, expanding the covered parking area to accommodate vehicles of clients, and replacing old gates and extending the fence for added security.

A 3-door dormitory was likewise built to provide additional accommodation for GSIS employees.

PGM Veloso also met with members of local media to update them on GSIS programs and addressed questions related to the pension fund.

The Iloilo office is one of GSIS’s big branch offices serving 53,115 members, 18,961 pensioners, and 296 remitting agencies under its jurisdiction. More than 400 clients visit the office daily.
