But for the meantime, the FRC will also cater to residents of nearby pilot barangays for the step 1 registration, which captures the demographic data of the registrants.

“I’m glad to mention that during the step 1 Registration, a total of 68,486 Guimarasons were successfully registered out of our 41,280 targets, translating to about 165.91% we overshoot our target by 65.91%, which put Guimaras on rank No. 2 among the 81 provinces of the country in terms of accomplishments,” Losare said.

Losare also expounded that the National ID System is a flagship program of President Duterte’s administration that is monitored daily by NEDA through PhilSys tracker and reported weekly to the Office of the President.

“The step 1 and step 2 registrations, are handled by PSA, integration and checking for duplication of registration is the work of the DIC, the printing shall be done by the BSP while distribution is the tasked given to the Phil Post,” she said.

PSA-Guimaras was a month late in the step 2 rollout because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The office strategized to control the crowd by distributing priority numbers with the date and time of their schedule through the help of the Barangay Officials.

Lone district Rep. Ma. Lucile L. Nava and Governor Samuel T. Gumarin also showed their support during the launching of Fixed Registration Center, where they both cited in their messages the importance of the PhilID, particularly in implementing government programs and extending assistance to all Gumarasnons especially during the pandemic.

“Sa sini nga paagi ma proteksyunan man natun ang mga taga probinsya sang Guimaras kag eventually maubrahan natun sang isa ka mayo nga programa kag proyekto para mapadasig natun ang pag serbisyo sa bilog nga probinsaya (With this, we will able to protect the Guimarasnons and eventually this will be used for planning and decision making in the implementation of government programs and projects to boost our services for the whole province),” Governor Gumarin said.

“Gin implement ini tungod nga gusto natun nga maka provide kita sang benipisyo or serbisyo to all our citizens (This was done to provide benefits and services to all our citizens),” Rep. Nava said.

“The National ID was under our committee and was approved during the 7th Congress. This National ID is a valid proof of identity, and a single identification card for every individual,” the lady lawmaker added

The cutting of ribbon in the fixed registration center was led by Rep. Nava, Governor Gumarin, Landbank Manager July Pacial, and PSO Losare.

In Nueva Valencia, the ribbon cutting was led by Sanguniang Bayan Member Jayson Javier on behalf of Mayor Emmanuel C. Galila, and by Municipal Civil Registrar Officer (MCRO) Mary Jane Piosca.
