BACOLOD CITY – A 17-year-old senior high school student was apprehended during a buy-bust operation at Hacienda Carmen, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday.

The police have kept the identity of the minor, a Grade 11 student, confidential.

Police Lieutenant Colonel John Joel Batusbatusan, the city’s police chief, said that after receiving reports from some teachers about the student’s supposed illegal activities, they confirmed the allegations and subsequently initiated the operation.

The police assert that the young suspect was caught selling a sachet of what appeared to be dried marijuana leaves to an undercover officer for P500.

The authorities seized six sachets of what they suspect are dried marijuana leaves, with a total weight of 60 grams and an estimated value of P7,200, from the individual.

Batusbatusan has confirmed that the minor is now in the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
