Hubby arrested for ‘maltreating’ wife

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— A 35-year-old farmer who was wanted for maltreating his wife was arrested by police Monday morning at Barangay Manayupit, Maayon, Capiz.

Primitivo Lachica did not resist when the Maayon police served his warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act).

The warrant was issued by then Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Juliana Azarraga in Roxas City on May 28, 2008.

The suspect is presently detained in the lock up cell of Maayon Municipal Police Station for failure to post bail.

The suspect was charged by his wife for maltreating her 12 years ago.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old wanted person was collared by police Monday morning at Brgy. Roxas , Tapaz.

Jay Gapasinao was charged for ′′reckless imprudence resulting in homicide ′′ after he figured in a road accident few months ago where one person died.

The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Sebastino A. Baguio of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) Branch 6 in Dumalag-Tapaz.

A P40,000 bail was recommended for Gapasinao’s temporary liberty. He is presently detained at Tapaz Municipal Police Station.
