ICBC 2023 first conference set to kick off playoff round

The Iloilo City Basketball Club (ICBC) will finally stage its highly-anticipated postseason round of the ongoing first conference of the year to be held at the Monterosa Subdivision basketball gym, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, today.

From 15 teams who balled out in the regular season to secure a place in the playoffs, the Top 8 teams that will advance were finally named last June 5, 2023.

Clinching the no.1 spot is team Leadgen QL Mortgage who finished the preliminary round with an impressive 9-3 win-loss record.

Seating behind team Leadgen are three teams with the same win-loss records of 8-4: Vtrain Vape, Dois Seafood/Its RELX Iloilo, and team Selecta.

For the fifth-eighth spot, the defending champions Big Roys, BacFire Industrial Supplies, 42BIG, and CVV Wheels managed to win crucial games in the final stretch to share an identical 7-5 record.

Players to watch in this coming playoff round are Jan Badayos and Stone Brian Vicente of team Leadgen, Ron Cambas and Gerald Ordinal of team Vtrain, Rush Rubin, Joshua Manaay, and Manuel Dolar of team Dois, and Armando Acurantes and Miguel Yu of team Selecta.

Meanwhile, leading team Bigroys are Dexter Lacanaria, John Rey Madulin, and Dacks Galvez, Peter Oñate for team BacFire, JC Catalan and Edzel Silarde for team 42big, and Jay Teñosa and JR Cava for team CVV.
