ICPO is PNP’s best city police office

The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) was adjudged as the country’s best city police office for 2020.

The victory for the men and women of ICPO is doubly sweeter as it is the first time the unit has captured the award relative to the celebration of the Police Service Anniversary.

Police Colonel Eric Dampal, Iloilo City police chief, said that such a feat would not have been possible without the cooperation of every ICPO personnel and other stakeholders who contributed to ICPO’s accomplishments, programs and initiatives.

In achieving the citation, Dampal has acknowledged the support of Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police chief, and Mayor Jerry Treñas, for their support to buoy ICPO “to serve with pride and dignity.”

In its statement, ICPO said that “working vis-à-vis with the supportive stakeholders of the community, ICPO continues to work even harder towards a peaceful and progressive Iloilo City amidst our fight against COVID-19 pandemic.”

Unlike the previous anniversary, the PNP celebrated the 119th Police Service Anniversary virtually.

ICPO is the only unit in Western Visayas to bag an award at the national level.

This year’s celebration adopted the theme, “Towards a Pandemic- Resilient PNP-Adopting Protective Protocols in the New Normal.”
