Like father, like son, indeed.

Tagged to be one of the best Cebuano basketball players, Dondon “The Cebuano Hotshot” Hontiveros already cemented his name in the PH basketball scene as one of the deadliest shooters to ever set foot on the hardwood.

Following in his footsteps is his son, Isaiah “Ice” who is currently dominating Cebu, specifically in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) leading the University of Cebu (UC) to a CESAFI title.

The 6’3’’ top Cebuano prospect plays way different from his dad’s style of play, Dondon is known to be a designated spot-up shooter while Isaiah is a ball-dominant guard that can slice and dice through the opposing team’s interior while having a reliable shooting game.

Isaiah’s dominance in Cebu earned him a spot in the national high-school all-star game which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic while also earning the top spot in the NBTC Cebu ranking.

His stellar career with UC turned heads in Metro Manila, specifically in the UAAP with top universities already recruiting him despite the pandemic.

Isaiah received offers from FEU, University of Santo Tomas, De La Salle, and Ateneo.

With ample time before they need to make a decision, Dondon said that they are carefully weighing-in all the options so they can make the best decision for his son.
