Iloilo City gov’t irons out Covid-19 vaccination process

The Iloilo City government is currently ironing out the vaccination process as it anticipates the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccines in the second quarter of 2021.

In an interview, Jeck Conlu, spokesperson of the Iloilo City Covid-19 Team, said that the city government clustered the vaccination centers per district to ensure a smooth vaccination process.

Schools in Iloilo City particularly Ateneo de Iloilo – Santa Maria Catholic School, John B. Lacson Maritime Foundation University, West Visayas State University (WVSU), Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) and University of San Agustin have been designated as the vaccination centers of the city-wide vaccination program.

According to Conlu, residents of Molo and Arevalo district will be catered at John B. Lacson Maritime Foundation University while residents of Jaro district will be vaccinated at CPU.

Meanwhile, WVSU and ISAT-U will cater to residents of La Paz and Lapuz and the University of San Agustin will cater residents from the City Proper district.

The city government is aiming to conduct the vaccination to at most 30 minutes per person to cater to more residents and hasten the vaccination process. (ERS)
