Iloilo MVP taekwondo gym extends its dominance to Roxas City

Another tournament, another brilliant finish.

After flaunting its reign during the previous national and local tournaments, the Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym showed no signs of fatigue and was hailed as the overall champions during the recently concluded 2nd Mayor Ronnie Dadivas Regional New Face of the Year Championships last December 2, 2023, held in Robinson’s Place, Roxas City, Capiz.

In another impressive result, the Iloilo MVP gym wrapped up its Roxas City stint with 55 gold medals in the pooomsae and kyorugi categories.

The Pinggol-led prized Ilonggo jins also collected 26 silver medals and nine bronze medals during the two-day regional event.

During the poomsae individual category event, the gold medalists were Trisha Derren Cayanan, Xian Jaiden Bayasca, Ashley Parreñas, Elisha Marie Paradero, Athena Persephone Evangelista, Ma. Louise Escoto, Xabriel Zia Gebucion, Nathan Xander  Sirilan, Viene Marie Dulaca, Adenny Lourl Rivera, Merial An Detablan, Jin Saimon Saquilon, Arvin Kirk Derayunan, Tiffany Greme Derayunan, Cirila Johanne Sulatra, and Cleo Alexandria Evangelista.

Meanwhile, in the team poomsae event, Bayasca, Cayanan, Dulaca, Evangelista, Gebucion, Saquilon, Sulatra, Rivera, and Escoto brought home the golds for the Iloilo MVP gym.

Some notable names who delivered the gold medal for the MVP gym in the kyorugi event were Adrian Joseph Gajasan III, Alleina Nestley Gajasan, Alexander Niccolo Gajasan, Jose Miguel Ariete, Sophia Marie Bautista, Mary Bernadette Algarja, Antonio Cezar Roldan, and Yohana Parnicio.

Other honorable mentions in the gold medalist pool are Reyven Ken Decolongon, Rein Ian Dongosa, Khent Wharlie Donguila, Prince Ivan Dugayo, Lance Terence Baylon, Alexis Jane Robles, Prince Francis Jastillano, and Kassandra Dhea Castillano.

After the prestigious two-day regional competition, the Iloilo MVP gym was awarded with the overall championship trophy in both poomsae and kyorugi while Mr. Pinggol himself bagged the Best Coach Award in Kyorugi.

After their Capiz outing, the Iloilo MVP gym will return to training and will gear up for the 2023 National Batang Pinoy competition in Pasay, Manila from December 14-22, 2023.
