The top most wanted person of Iloilo province was arrested noon of June 26 at an island village in Concepcion, Iloilo.
Lonie Lamera, 41, a resident of Barangay Sagrada Familiar, Dumarao, Capiz, allegedly took refuge at Barangay Tambaliza, Concepcion after an arrest warrant was issued against him.
Members of the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, together with operatives from Concepcion Police Station, Barotac Nuevo Police Station, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU), served the alias warrant against Lamera for double murder in Criminal Case No. 16-6842.
Judge Vicente Go of the Iloilo Regional Trial Court RTC Branch 68, PD Monfort North, Dumangas, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on May 9, 2017.
No bail was set for his temporary liberty.
Reports said that Lamera was accused of killing a couple sometime in 2016.
The incident stemmed following a police operation against members of a crime group.
Lamera allegedly retaliated against the victims believing that they were the ones who tipped the police operatives that led to the shootout.
Lamera is now detained at Barotac Nuevo Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
