BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Napoles, Bago City, Negros Occidental found the body of a newborn baby girl in an irrigation in the said village last Friday.
Police Captain Hancel Lumandaz, deputy chief of Bago City Police Station, said the infant was believed to have been swept away from an upland barangay to the irrigation.
Lumandaz said that they posted information regarding the incident on their Facebook page. “Basi may mag claim bala para matagaan man sang maayo na burial,” he added.
However, nobody surfaced to claim the remains. Thus, the local government decided to bury the infant at a public cemetery in Barangay Ma-ao the following day, according to Lumandaz.
