Instant work found through Labor Day online Job Fair

Qualified applicants found decent employment through the Labor Day online Job Fair.

The activity conducted through the collaboration of the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. VI and mynimo.com was part of the 119th Labor Day Trabaho Negosyo Kabuhayan Jobs and Business Fairs which generated 6, 097 job vacancies and invited 5, 224 registrants.

Among the 2,343 registrants who applied, 21 were hired on the spot and are assured of employment mostly as encoders, profilers, enumerators and office workers.

53 near-hired applicants applied as tellers, non-voice agents, customer service representatives, technical support representatives and accounting assistants. Near-hired applicants are considered hired but needs to submit additional or lacking requirements, or may need to attend further interviews or tests.

Also, 231 applicants for tellers, sugarcane mill workers, customer service representatives, human resource representatives, instructors, human resource staff, among others are being evaluated.

DOLE RO No. VI Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao was delighted with the outcome of the job fair.

“We are happy that we have facilitated employment even if there are restrictions to conduct mass gatherings and the online Job Fair is a manifestation of DOLE’s creativeness especially during this time of pandemic,” Ticao said.

He also acknowledged the employers’ active participation by posting their job vacancies.

64 applicants were also referred to TESDA for Skills Training while 67 were referred to the DTI for Business Opportunity and to the BWSC for Livelihood Assistance.
