VALDERRAMA, Antique – “For with God, nothing shall be impossible”-Luke 1:37.
This verse guided Abby Rose V. Berdinof Barangay Lublub, Valderrama, Antique amidst her struggles in completing her college education.
Abby Rose is the eldest child of the five children of Avelino and Rosanna Berlin. Avelino is a land tenant while Rosanna is a child development worker. The couple strived hard to make both ends meet to sustain the health and needs of their children in school.
Thanks to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the family was included in the Modified Conditional Cash Transfer for Indigenous Peoples (MCCT-IP).
Abby recalled that in her four years in college, she tried to live within her P300 weekly allowance. She applied for scholarship programs after seeing the struggles of her parents.
Luckily, she was granted the Tulong Dunong Scholarship program of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in her second year.
Abby is a consistent Dean’s Lister that made her parents even prouder.
In April 2019, she graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, major in Math. Presently, she is reviewing for her Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in September 2019.
Abby is looking forward to be employed as soon as she could pass the LET to help her younger sisters on their schooling and to have a better life ahead, more that what other people are expecting her to be as an IP. (MGC/MCCT-IP Valderrama, Antique POO)
