The Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) will produce a total of 7,000 face masks which will be distributed to help frontliners amid efforts to contain the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

ISAT-U President Raul Muyong led the turn-over of the first batch of face masks, with 1,000 pieces delivered to the Iloilo City Hall and 100 pieces to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-6 on March 25, 2020.

According to the Public Information Office of ISAT-U, these masks were made by community partners that were also recipients of the livelihood skills training conducted by the university through the Extension Services Division.

Additional face masks will be given to NEDA-6 and to the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.

ISAT-U will also be producing aerosol boxes for intubation and face shields through the ISAT-U prototyping and fabrication laboratory in the research hub.

The personal protective equipment will be delivered to various front line institutions as soon as production will be completed. (PIA/Photo courtesy of ISAT-U PIO)
