ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The Olotayan Integrated School in the island barangay of Olotayan here is one of the pilot areas for limited face-to-face classes in Capiz.
This was confirmed by Dr. Rogelio Amador, Assistant City Schools Division Superintendent of Roxas City.
Amador said the school was chosen because of its low risk to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the limited movement of the residents.
He said more schools might host face-to-face classes but they will have to undergo evaluation.
Meanwhile, enrollment at the Capiz State University (CAPSU), the lone public university in Capiz, surged by 30 percent.
This was confirmed by Dr. Editha Alfon, CapSU President, after the school registered 6,000 more enrollees for the school year 2021-2022.
Alfon said students can choose modular or blended type of learning.
Alfon said teachers had a hard time implementing new types of learning systems last year, but their experiences prepared them for the current school year.
The university is still accepting late enrollees with valid reasons. She assured the parents that education for about 23,000 students in the university will continue despite of the pandemic.
