BACOLOD City – The Metro Bacolod District Jail – female dormitory in Barangay Handumanan here joined the celebration of the World Health Day on Tuesday, by giving tribute to the medical frontliners for fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In a 1:30-minute video, Inspector Ma. Lorelie Dimaculangan, jail warden, said that 100 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and 12 jail personnel, including her, showed their snappiest salute to the bravery and contribution of the medical frontliners amid the global health emergency today.
They performed a dance number accompanied by Rachel Platten’s song “Fight Song,” which is now being widely used to uplift the frontliners who are at risk to save the lives of people against the infectious disease.
They expressed their gratitude to the nurses, midwives, doctors, and other health workers, who play a critical role in keeping the world healthy.
“Thank you for going well beyond the call of duty,” Dimaculangan said.
They also called on the whole nation to support those who hold the line, for in unity, the Filipino will find the strength to survive, she added.
