It has been a while since Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon made noise.

The former ONE Fighting Championship bantamweight world champion has not seen action since his devastating loss to current bantamweight champion, Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes.

Belingon said that he is eyeing his return on May 29, 2020 on ONE Infinity 11 at the Mall of Asia Arena, depending on the final decision of ONE Committee if the event will be pushed through amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

With Belingon expressing his comeback in the ring, he also said that he is eager to fight John Lineker, one of the most excellent strikers in the bantamweight division.

“It will be exciting if they give me John Lineker. It will be a very good match. You see how he fights? He has excellent striking, and he’s really good. So if we cross paths, it will be a barn-burner for sure,” Belingon added.

Due to Belingon’s long-time absence from the ring, Team Lakay is now looking on the large improvements he can have and that includes his ground game, one major factor why he lost his belt to Fernandes.

Belingon’s lack of ground game during his last fight served as his main weakness which Fernandes exposed, bringing the fight to the mat every time he had the chance for a take down.

“Now, I am focused on the ground game and my wrestling. Of course, I won’t relax on my specialty either, my striking. But then again, reviewing my match with Bibiano, I am really lacking on the ground and wrestling, so that’s what I am looking at right now,” Belingon said.
