TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE
A 20-year-old woman was found dead morning of February 7 at their family home in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Police only identified the victim as alias Kay, a college student and resident of Barangay Burgos, Dumangas.
Her uncle-teacher found her inside their house.
Members of the Dumangas Risk Reduction Management Council rushed the victim to Ramon Duremdes District Hospital however she was declared dead on arrival.
Senior Master Sergeant Ronald Domines, Dumangas police investigator, said they found no foul play on the victim’s death.
Even her family didn’t suspect foul play and has rejected the conduct of an autopsy,
According to her other uncle, a member of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) who was living nearby, he saw her the night before she was found dead.
“She approached her uncle. She told him about a problem of a friend that was weighing her down,” Domines said.
The uncle talked to her briefly and didn’t think that the problem was too much for her to bear.
Her uncle said that they would try to open her phone to find answers on what triggered the victim to take her own life.
It was gathered that Kay was staying with relatives as her mother is working abroad.
