BACOLOD City – About P410,900 worth of cash and jewelry were robbed from a lawyer here and a lending collector in Negros Occidental last week.
Over the weekend, unidentified men forcibly entered a lawyer’s two-storey house here by climbing on the fence and destroying the padlock of the door’s house.
Police Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 8, said the house owner was sleeping when the robbers barged in and stormed the three bedrooms around 3 a.m. Saturday.
The incident was discovered the following day, when assorted jewelry worth P200,000, two cellular phones, and P5,000 cash were already missing.
Gever said they have no lead yet on the identities of the perpetrators.
When asked if it was a case of inside job, Gever said they cannot confirm it yet since investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a lending firm collector was also robbed by two unidentified armed men at Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City last Thursday.
Investigation showed that the robbers allegedly blocked the way of Pedro Biarcal, 33, of Barangay Olihao, Cauayan town, and also reportedly threatened him at gunpoint.
The robbers then carted away P205,900 cash, and fled.
They were later identified as a certain “Rolando Rocillo”, 30; and Joecrey Andoque, 50, both residents of Barangay Bantayan.
Biarcal identified the robbers through the rogues’ gallery of Kabankalan City Police Station.
